What colorblindtest.app collects, how Google Analytics is used, and why your color blind test answers and results never leave your device.

Overview

colorblindtest.app (“we”, “us”) operates the free online color blind test at colorblindtest.app. You can take the test without an account, and the test runs entirely in your browser.

Information we collect

We never ask for your name, email, password, age, or payment details to take the test.

  • Test results on your device: your last 12 results (date, red/green/blue cone scores, result type, and duration), the number of tests taken, and your sound setting are saved in your browser’s local storage. They are not transmitted to us.
  • Your individual answers to each plate are kept in memory only for the current run and are discarded when you leave or retake the test.
  • Analytics: we use Google Analytics 4, described below.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics collects standard usage information such as pages viewed, approximate location (country or city level), device and browser type, and referring site. We also send a small number of anonymous events:

  • A test was started, abandoned (with the plate number), or completed
  • For completed tests: the result category (for example “deutan”), severity band, the three 0–100 cone scores, and the duration

These events are not linked to your name or contact details, and we use them only in aggregate — for example, to check that the test’s results look plausible across many devices. We do not sell personal information. Google’s own processing is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Health information

A color blind test result can be sensitive. That is why results are stored only on your device and analytics events carry no identifying details. We do not build profiles of individual visitors, and we do not share test outcomes with employers, insurers, advertisers, or anyone else.

Cookies and local storage

Google Analytics sets first-party cookies to distinguish visits. Local storage holds your results and settings. You can clear both at any time in your browser settings, or delete just your results with the Clear history button in the test’s History panel. Browser extensions that block analytics do not affect the test.

Children

The test is suitable for general audiences and children who can read digits. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us via About Us and we will help.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the site changes; the date above shows the latest revision. Questions can be sent to malam169@gmail.com.
